Unit Vector Solutions Ltd invites qualified vendors and contractors to submit their Request for Quotes (RFQs) for conducting a comprehensive Substation Earthing Survey. We are seeking competent and certified professionals who can provide a thorough evaluation of our earthing system and offer expert recommendations for improvements and compliance with relevant standards.

Project Overview:

This project involves an extensive survey and assessment of the grid earthing system, including the inspection of earthing electrodes, connections, and compliance with the **IEEE-80 standards**. The successful contractor will be required to deliver a detailed report with recommendations for potential improvements or repairs.

Survey Brief Scope:

The following activities will be required during the survey:

1. **Check Earthing Electrodes and Connections**  

   Ensure that all earthing electrodes and their connections are intact and functional.

2. **Inspect for Corrosion and Damage**  

   Check for any visible signs of corrosion, wear, or damage to the earthing electrodes and connections.

3. **Check for Missing Earthing Tape/Strip**  

   Conduct a thorough inspection for any missing earthing tape or strip across its span.

4. **Measure Earthing Resistance**  

   Test the earthing resistance using an earth tester to ensure it meets the required standards.

5. **Review Historical Reports and Compliance**  

   Review previous earthing test reports and the original earth mesh design, checking compliance with **IEEE-80 standards**.

6. **Soil Resistivity Measurement**  

   Measure the soil resistivity to determine if additional electrodes are required for enhancing the earthing system.

7. **Verify Equipment Connection**  

   Ensure that all relevant equipment is properly connected to the earth mesh.

8. **Certified Surveyors**  

   Surveyors must hold all necessary certifications and competencies in accordance with applicable **UK regulations**.

9. **Provision of RAMS**  

   Provide Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) in compliance with applicable **UK regulations**.

Expected Deliverables:

The contractor is expected to provide:

1. **Detailed Reports and Findings**  

   Comprehensive reports detailing the condition of the grid earthing system, with recommendations for improvement or repair, compliant with relevant standards (**IEEE-80**).

2. **Recommendations for New and Existing Scope**  

   Recommendations covering both new installations and upgrades or repairs to existing earthing infrastructure.

Qualified vendors are requested to submit a detailed quotation including:

Quotation

  - Detailed breakdown of costs for labor, materials, and any additional expenses.

Compliance Information

  - Certifications and compliance with IEEE standards and applicable UK regulations.

  - Risk Assessment and Method Statements in line with UK health and safety regulations.
